Given the commanding fashion in which Pop Rockstar won at Carlisle on last year's seasonal reappearance it's fair to say the rest of his season was a complete disaster.

The Jonjo O'Neill-trained eight-year-old was tailed off on his next three starts, but he returned in the same Carlisle race last month and ran a career best with a fast-finishing second.
