The David Pipe stable is not quite as synonymous with Cheltenham's November meeting as it once was, but the trainer's 14 per cent strike-rate since taking over from his father Martin in 2006 is still up there with the best of the big yards and I have a feeling he'll win one or both of the opening races on the opening day.
The Markel Insurance Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle (1.15) is not one of the races on ITV4 but it could get favourite backers off to a flying start as it features a bafflingly well-handicapped horse representing a stable that has won the race four times since 2010.
