He ran no sort of race when down the field at Glorious Goodwood, but it is worth giving another chance to Stockpyle (16-1), who is certainly better than that.

Prior to that run, he had recorded comfortable successes at Chepstow and Wolverhampton, dominating his rivals on the latter occasion. I don't think an 8lb rise was the reason for his Goodwood blowout and perhaps the firmer ground can be used as an excuse.

I fancy this previously progressive three-year-old to get back on track, especially as he benefits from the good yard form of William Muir and Chris Grassick and the 3lb claim of Saffie Osborne.

He ran no sort of race on handicap debut at Sandown last time, but Acrion (22-1) is another who deserves a second chance.

Prior to that, he had recorded a pair of 6f victories in novice company, latterly at Wolverhampton under a penalty. Dropping back to 5f on handicap debut evidently did not suit, as he found everything happening too soon and was never seriously involved.

Returning to this trip is an obvious positive and he now has the benefit of Tyler Heard's 3lb claim. It is still very early days for him and you would hope the best is yet to come.
