When Battaash is on his game, he is one of the best five-furlong sprinters seen in the UK and Ireland for many years. He is also a horse who lives on his nerves and tends to bring out the same characteristic in his supporters. In a match bet with defending champion and heavily reliable sprinter Blue Point, it could well pay to side with ice over fire on the spreads.

There is little question that if both horses show their respective, theoretical best, that this bet will be a loser. However, with just 6lb between them on RPRs even that would result in a loss of just over 1pt.
