Credit: Alan Crowhurst

Well-regarded gelding who got off the mark at the second attempt in bumpers but that looked a decent contest. Strengthened up over the summer and is fancied to make a winning start to his hurdling career.

Oak Vintage (12.50 Catterick, nap)

Has come back in great form this season and was off the mark over fences when winning in good style at Kelso last time. Stiffer tasks at the weights today but has run off higher marks in the past and is fancied to follow up.

Racing Post Ratings: Steve Mason

Kilcrea Vale (2.40 Ascot)

Talented and still relatively lightly raced, he goes well fresh and looks well treated on his return to action.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Kayf Grace (2.05 Ascot)

Dual bumper winner who made a successful hurdling debut at Bangor almost a year ago. Nicky Henderson's mare can make a winning return.

Longshot: Ed Quigley

Don Bersy (3.50 Ascot)

Ran no sort of race last time out, but it was very testing ground and he should have come on for that run. Off a mark of 130 he is capable of going well.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

Smiling Eliza (7.30 Dundalk)

The Gordon Elliott-trained daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar has been knocking on the door here on her last two nursery starts, going down by a head to Militry Decoration when a 20-1 shot then finishing a close-up fourth of 14 behind Storm Has Broken when favourite. She can take the honours under Oisin Orr.
