Newmarket Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his perm for the ITV4 action

The 7f maiden (1.15) kicks off the Placepot at Newmarket and there isn’t much form to go on. So take a chance on the newcomers, Queenlet and Kirilenko, who are from top stables.

Illustrating competed in the Cheveley Park here two weeks ago and could cash in on a drop in class in the Cornwallis (1.50). It’s another open race, though, so include Tardis as well.

Rishes Baar is one of my best bets of the day in the Oh So Sharp (2.25), but it’s also worth putting the form horse, Perfect News, into the perm. She will be hard to keep out of the places.

The Challenge Stakes (3.00) is another tough one. Garrus might be suited by the longer trip and ran well at Haydock last time. Safe Voyage is the class horse of the field and looks solid.

Inspiral has looked an outstanding juvenile and should win the Fillies' Mile (3.35).

Injazati looks best of those towards the head of the market in the 1m4f handicap (4.10), but there could be an upset and Farhan isn’t out of it. He handles plenty of cut in the ground.
