Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Thursday selections from Ayr, Chelmsford, Naas, Pontefract and Yarmouth
Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Ayr
4.10: Alyara
Bollin Margaret and Celtic Empress (preferred in that order) can both benefit from today's drop in grade but there could be more to come from Alyara (nap), who came good over 1m1f at Carlisle three weeks ago and still has low mileage.
Chris Wilson
Chelmsford
6.30: Chocoya
Top of the list is dual Polytrack winner Chocoya (nap), who finished well to score off a sliding mark back in a handicap at Salisbury 14 days ago and still looks feasibly treated on this return to AW. May Sonic didn't fire on turf at York last time but this five-time AW winner is 2-2 over this C&D and he looks the main danger back in this sphere.

Naas
3.10: Memory Motel
Plenty in with chances but Memory Motel (nap) gets the vote after showing more in blinkers last time, potentially having a decent opening mark to work with. Stablemate Mary Pickersgill is no back number and needs respect, while Wild Eyed Girl is one who could prove better than her current rating when putting it all together. Hot Sunset and Our Louise are closely matched on Sligo form and shouldn't be too far away.
Mark Boylan
Pontefract
4.00: Wynford
Sound cases can be made for the likes of Flint Hill (second choice), Chocolate Box and Storm Chaser but it's still hard to ignore the claims of Wynford (nap), who has been well and truly revived by a switch to Rebecca Menzies. He very much caught the eye at Musselburgh last time and can confirm he's still on a favourable mark returned to a stiffer track.
Andrew Sheret
Yarmouth
4.25: Mango Boy
3yos have won the past two runnings of this and may again hold the key. All things considered, it was a perfectly respectable return to action from Titian at Beverley and he's of strong interest with the promise of more to come. However, the same is true of Mango Boy (nap), who would not have been seen to best effect in a slow time at Ripon latterly and there's good reason to believe he can take his mark higher. Pied Piper shouldn't be a million miles away.
