Nap of the day: best horse racing tips from the day's four meetings

Selections from Cheltenham, Cork, Fontwell and Punchestown

Sunday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Cheltenham

2.55: Advanced Virgo

The vote goes to Advanced Virgo (nap), who has been gradually finding his form and may well reach boiling point today. He appears ready to produce a very big performance. Straw Fan Jack (second choice) and Bua Boy are interesting each-way options at bigger odds. West Cork has to overcome a long absence and No Ordinary Joe gained his May wins over 2m4f but they are appealing types in all other respects. Smart 4yo Adagio has to be feared and Tritonic has good credentials, while a few others also have possibilities in a strongly contested Greatwood.

Cork

1.20: Dads Lad

A competitive race with the likes of Crassus and Takarengo coming back to hurdles after being effective on the Flat. Dreamsrmadeofthis is a potentially fascinating handicap debutante, but the one to beat looks like Dads Lad (nap) who has been generally progressive and won comfortably at Sligo last time. The drop back to 2m could well suit him.
Justin O'Hanlon

Fontwell

3.10: Gleno

Although Le Breuil is weighted to win this if anywhere near his best, it's a long time since his Cheltenham Festival win and it can pay to look elsewhere. Gleno (nap), who was progressive last season, should be primed for this and his yard remains in fine form. Top weight Almazhar Garde may give him most to do.
Keith McHugh

Punchestown

1.00: Lord Lariat

Two years ago Dermot McLoughlin won this event with subsequent Irish Grand National hero Freewheelin Dylan. He has an interesting candidate now in Lord Lariat (nap), an encouraging second at Fairyhouse last time. Fully Charged and Alfa Mix are likely dangers.
