Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Picks from Bellewstown, Chelmsford, Clonmel, Lingfield, Salisbury and Warwick

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Bellewstown

2.30: Dunum

Having gone close at Gowran last time back from a break, Dunum (nap) looks poised to strike now with that run under his girth. Nana Patsy, Destacado, Jazz Dreamers and Barretstown look the ones to give him most to worry about.
Tyrone Molloy

Chelmsford

7.00: Maajdah

This should be run at a good clip with front-runners Autumn Flight and Miss Nay Never both ideally drawn to attack, and neither is ruled out. However, Maajdah (nap) bolted up from off the pace on her AW debut at Wolverhampton last week and her half-sister won a good handicap here en route to Group-race honours. She is 4lb well-in even with a penalty, and she may have more up her sleeve than that. Miss Nay Never is the second choice and Invincible Larne can also make his presence felt.
Alistair Jones

Clonmel

4.00: Lord Gillygooley

Due to go up 2lb in future events after finishing a clear second at Listowel last Friday, Lord Gillygooley (nap) can go one better here, chiefly at the expense of recent Navan scorer Yamato. Anno Maximo is a potential improver upped in trip, while Mutual Respect could have more to offer.

Lingfield

6.10: Jawhary

Sir Mark Prescott's returning course-and-distance winner The Tide Turns is not without interest but preference on this occasion is for another back after a break in the shape of Jawhary (nap). Owen Burrows' progressive sort created a good impression when landing a 1m2f Goodwood handicap when last seen in June and can follow up now upped in trip.
Peter Entwistle

Salisbury

5.12: Grand Scheme

Recent rain heightens the appeal of the back-to-form Whitehaven who goes so well on soft and heavy going. He is second on the list to Grand Scheme (nap) who would seemingly be fine with softened ground and has shaped recently as if a greater stamina test, which he should get today, will suit him. Frontispiece and Single are each-way options.
Richard Austen

Warwick

3.10: Shentri

Dan Skelton's four-year-old Shentri (nap) comes here after a good effort in higher-grade company at Bangor last month and could be difficult to beat if aided by the addition of cheekpieces. Fat Sam will be respected if the ground stays good. If there is significant underfoot ease, winning hunter chaser Creative Inerta may provide a bigger threat to the selection.
