Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Cheltenham

1.50: Dostal Phil

A key piece of form is last month's Paddy Power Gold Cup won by Midnight Shadow, who produced a career-best performance but now has to overcome a 7lb rise. Fourth-placed Dostal Phil (nap) shaped very well, remains unexposed at 2m4f and makes plenty of appeal off just a 1lb higher mark. His stablemate Zanza, who also stayed on from a difficult position in that race, is second choice. Third-placed Lalor also commands respect, assuming he can find some consistency for Paul Nicholls. Silver Hallmark, Farinet and Fusil Raffles are other interesting contenders in this warm handicap chase.
Steve Boow

Doncaster

2.05: Takeit Easy

This warm handicap, featuring plenty of thriving or unexposed sorts, can go to Takeit Easy (nap) whose form is rock solid. He can confirm his Wetherby superiority with Tommy's Oscar, although that rival is again likely to provide stern opposition. Third on the list is the lightly raced Sonigino, while a market move for that one's former stablemate Lucky One would be significant.
Richard O'Brien

Fairyhouse

2.47: Final Orders

A compressed handicap and Final Orders (nap) can confirm Punchestown form with Ruler Of Dubai and defy a 3lb higher mark. Course specialist Nicole's Milan and strong stayer Glenabo Bridge can also contend.

Hereford

2.32: Sarasota Star

An interesting handicap in which all six have chances. However, Sarasota Star (nap) will probably try to repeat his front-running heroics from Chepstow and his jumping will be an asset around here. Hardy Du Seuil may be the danger if handling this drop in distance, though any support for Black Gerry could be highly significant.
Alistair Jones

Newcastle

4.30: Millionaire Waltz

Plenty have possibilities but the most striking contender is Millionaire Waltz (nap), who made it 4-5 on Tapeta when completing a C&D hat-trick in smooth style last month. Pallas Lord was a clear second off a reduced mark behind the selection last time and he's feared most, ahead of hat-trick seeker Spartan Fighter who should make another bold bid back up in trip. Vindobala has been placed here in his last two starts and is respected on his drop back in grade, while others to consider are Bronze River and Dick Datchery.
David Moon

Wolverhampton

7.15: Muscika

Night Narcissus should make a bold bid but Shallow Hal and Muscika (nap) could be the pair to focus on. David O'Meara's sprinter has been thriving on the AW of late and a 5lb rise for last week's easy C&D win shouldn't handicap him out of things.
Paul Smith
