Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings
Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Lingfield
1.10: KIRILENKO
Well-bred filly who is improving with experience, getting off the mark with a game effort at Windsor last month (responded well for pressure despite edging away from the stands' rail in the closing stages); that performance was backed up by the clock and a 3lb rise may not prove beyond her; promise in one AW run last year.
Paul Smith
Haydock
2.25: BRINKLEY
Just three runs last term and he has to jump better than when back over hurdles at Chepstow in February, when he finished third; however, he's 2lb lower than for a decisive hurdle win at Exeter (2m7f, heavy) in February 2021 and some of David Pipe's leading lights have returned to form with reappearance wins this autumn, which along with the ground bodes well for his claims.
Ben Hutton

Huntingdon
3.08: CLUAIN AODHA
Runner-up on all four hurdling starts, the last twice in good-ground handicaps last month (2m3f/2m4f); could quite plausibly have untapped potential over today's longer trip and needs to be taken very seriously.
Chris Wilson
Ascot
1.30: GLIMPSE OF GALA
The third of her three wins last season came in a mares' handicap; has performed well against male rivals in both outings this term, clear second at Aintree (3m, good to soft) latest; holds solid claims and warrants plenty of respect.
Steve Boow
Punchestown
1.03: HALLOWED STAR
Promoted to 140 over hurdles after wide-margin Galway festival win; no match for useful mare Set Down Lucy on chasing debut at the same venue in September, but returned to Ballybrit again last month and produced an exuberant display tow in by 19 lengths; could be hard be beat if able to dictate similarly now.
Alan Sweetman
Wolverhampton
8.00: HOOFLEPUFF
Excellent record (all seven wins) here and he took advantage of some leniency from the handicapper to gain his most recent success last week; has also won over this trip; leading contender off just 2lb higher.
Richard O'Brien
