Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Galway

8.20: Cozone

Unanswered keeps delivering and could well improve again for this step up in trip. However, slight preference is for Cozone (nap), who had little luck in running when finishing strongly at Killarney over this trip. The selection's trainer Matthew Smith has six in total here, La Hacienda, looking the greatest threat, while Dark Voyager is another to consider.
Alan Hewison

Goodwood

2.25: Primo Bacio

Granted a smooth passage, this scenario could work a treat for Primo Bacio (nap) who should be suited by getting cover in this big field back over seven furlongs and being produced with a late challenge. Back down in class she has leading claims on her peak form. Heredia and Soft Whisper are highly respected, while Benefit and Oscula are also in the mix. French raider Samahram and seasonal debutante Allayaali are interesting types among the remainder.
Steve Boow

Leicester

7.35: Clipsham Gold

The return to a more galloping track should be in Larkin's favour and he can go well but Clipsham Gold (nap) still looks on a good mark and she can follow up her recent 7f win here. Of the remainder, handicap debutante Roaring Rosa needs a market check now upped to a mile for the first time.
Paul Smith

Perth

2.10: Lake Shore Drive

This can go to Lake Shore Drive (nap), who ran a big race in defeat when second of 17 at Worcester on this month's stable debut and ought to be able to cope with today's 4lb higher mark. Get Phar returned from a break with a pleasing effort in June and is second choice, ahead of Barney Stinson.
Chris Wilson

Redcar

3.45: Encourageable

Top of the list is James Horton's lightly raced colt Encourageable (nap), who didn't get much luck before finishing well for a clear second over course and distance on his recent handicap debut. Million Thanks could resume his progress back at this trip and he's feared most for a yard that has won this twice in the last six years. Richard Fahey's in-form filly Ana Gold should be in the mix again, while another to keep an eye on is the handicap newcomer Drakeholes.
David Moon

Sandown

7.25: Mercurius Power

Most of these have some questions to answer and the one that stands out is triple turf winner Mercurius Power (nap), who hit a personal best with his course and distance win last week and he can follow up under a penalty. The main threat could come from the Charlie Hills-trained three-year-old Aldhaja, who looked stretched over a mile and a quarter here last time and could resume his progress back at this trip.
