Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Fancies from Chelmsford, Lingfield, Musselburgh, Punchestown and more

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Redcar

5.00 Tricolore

An interesting three-year-old event to conclude. Considering Tricolore (nap) met a bit of trouble and was still at the back turning in at Wolverhampton, he deserves credit for winning going away and is selected to make light of a 9lb rise. Impulsive One and Realist, like the selection a ready winner on AW last time, head the dangers.
Andrew Sheret

Chelmsford

6.10: Al Asef

Sir Hector, Sir Rodneyredblood and Suzi's Connoisseur are important players as they filled the first three places in a similar event here 27 days ago. However, Al Asaf (nap) is preferred on the back of an encouraging reappearance. Second choice is Sir Hector. El Ray is open to progress now handicapping and Red Alert needs a close look on his debut for Mick Appleby.
Steve Boow

Punchestown

5.25: Flooring Porter

A decent renewal but it is difficult to oppose the Stayers' Hurdle winner Flooring Porter (nap), who is on a roll at present. However, Ronald Pump is capable of going close if in the same form as when chasing home Honeysuckle earlier this year. The Storyteller and Beacon Edge won't be far away, while a trio of Willie Mullins-trained horses are stepping up in trip and can't be discounted.
Tyrone Molloy

Lingfield

3.00: Lady Florence

Shecandoo came with a withering late run to beat Lady Florence (nap) over course and distance 19 days ago but the selection is expected to reverse the placings from a much more favourable draw today.
Paul Smith

Musselburgh

4.35: Dreamseller

Yukon was eyecatching when backed at Newcastle but ready preference is for Dreamseller (nap), who shaped well at Pontefract and won second time out last season. Not that it's a two-horse race, as the now-gelded Makyon is still with Mark Johnston and Gometra Ginty is dangerously handicapped.
Alistair Jones

Southwell

8.25: Send In The Clouds

Having shed his maiden tag over course and distance last time, the lightly raced Send In The Clouds (nap) should have more to offer and can defy his 3lb higher mark. Mostallim may pose the biggest threat, while others to consider include The Retriever, Socru and Tyche.
