Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Catterick
2.50: Flammarion
In what looks a particularly weak handicap, bumper winner Flammarion looks to have a sound chance following his good run last time. Straight Ash looks his main threat.
Colin Russell
Ffos Las
3.15: Little Awkward
Imperial Knight has some potential to progress from last month's breakthrough win at Warwick but the most interesting runner is Little Awkward, who made a very promising start to his hurdling career last season and now steps up in trip for his handicap debut. Bobhopeornohope and Morning Spirit were below par last time but both have claims if judged on their earlier form.

Lingfield
3.35: Headley George
The most striking contender is Headley George, who was successful over 1m2f at Chelmsford in March and didn't get much luck when runner-up behind a rival who got first run over C&D 13 days ago. He's 2lb higher here but he pulled clear of the third last time and is open to more progress at this trip. Like Sugar is next best, ahead of Anniemation.
David Moon
Southwell
5.50: Smuggler's Blues
The most appealing option is Smuggler's Blues, who wasn't beaten far in a higher grade last time and he can be relied upon to give his running. That's A Given is up and down but could be the danger if putting his best foot forward.
Alistair Jones
Windsor
6.30: Brentford Hope
With the slow ground in his favour, Brentford Hope makes plenty of appeal upped in grade. His two wins have been gained in very taking style and the latest was his first attempt at 1m, so he's still massively unexposed over this trip. He's one to follow this term and has a much better chance than the bare ratings suggest. Solid Stone, who has been largely progressive, is feared most. Stormy Antarctic has a big chance on his best form but he's not guaranteed to reproduce it. Market support for Syrtis should be heeded.
Steve Boow
Killarney
7.10: Uisce Beatha
Staying chasers can be in and out when they run regularly in tough handicaps and this is of limited punting appeal. The glaring exception in terms of potential progress is Uisce Beatha, developing into a useful stayer, with time still an ally. Waitnsee, one of two mares in the field, comes into it.
