Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Wednesday fancies at Punchestown, Ascot, Pontefract, Brighton and more

Ascot

3.55: Haqeeqy

The unexposed four-year-old Haqeeqy (nap) was very impressive in the Lincoln, despite a troubled passage, and he can continue his rise up the ranks with another win today. Marie's Diamond won this race last year, albeit at Newmarket, but he also possesses strong Ascot form and has the benefit of a recent run. He is feared most ahead of Duke Of Hazzard and Sir Busker.
Ben Hutton

Brighton

7.25: Alezan

Bounty Pursuit and He's Our Star both ran well in defeat in the same race at Bath three weeks ago and appear very closely matched, but neither has won since 2019 and preference is for the younger legs of Alezan (nap). Eve Johnson Houghton's filly wasn't beaten far when dead-heating for third in higher-grade company on her recent seasonal debut at Kempton.
Chris Wilson

Chelmsford

6.10: Justified

Preference is for Justified (nap), who is well treated on his best form on turf and Polytrack last year and was a creditable third behind a progressive subsequent winner over this trip at Catterick on his recent return. C&D winner Pax Britannica still has potential as a stayer and she's feared most on her reappearance.

Pontefract

2.35: Regal Mirage

The one that appeals most is dual course winner Regal Mirage (nap), who got back in the groove with a comfortable success in cheekpieces at Beverley and is a major player again under a penalty in his bid for an 11th career win. The main danger is Majalaat, who made a good start for his new yard when rallying well to go close behind a resurgent rival at Newcastle 13 days ago.

Punchestown

4.50: Decimation

The improving Decimation (nap) could be the one to beat following his narrow defeat in Grade 2 company last time and he's open to more progress than most of these. Blue Sari was running a big race before coming down at the Festival last month and is another to consider while the unexposed Panda Boy can't be ruled out.
Phill Anderson

Wolverhampton

2.25: Golden Hind

Having proved herself on Tapeta and over this trip, Golden Hind (nap) is taken to follow up her Newcastle win. Perhaps Spring Glow can emerge as her toughest opponent with potential from a workable mark. Steel An Icon would be interesting if supported on her handicap debut.
