Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Top Saturday fancies from Aintree, Doncaster, Wincanton and elsewhere

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Aintree

2.15: Cat Tiger

Midlands National winner Time To Get Up could be a major player in the Grand National over these fences in April, but there have to doubts about the big drop back in trip on today's reappearance. CAT TIGER (nap) did well to finish third in the Foxhunters' over C&D in April having made a bad mistake four out, and can provide Paul Nicholls with a fourth Grand Sefton win in the last nine years. Henry de Bromhead saddled the one-two in the Grand National in April and Spyglass Hill is feared most now back down in trip, while Richard Newland does well with his runners over these fences and Al Roc is an interesting outsider.
Ben Hutton

Chelmsford

6.00: Fauvette

This could revolve around the three at the head of the weights. Tyger Bay still has more to come as a sprinter but a wide draw isn't ideal and this track may not suit quite so well as Kempton. Lilkian has no such track concerns and should feature from the inside stall but FAUVETTE (nap) is preferred. She has already won on Polytrack, looked good at Yarmouth on her penultimate start and shouldn't be judged too harshly on her latest disappointing run on slow ground at Pontefract.
Paul Smith

Doncaster

2.40: East Asia

While lots of these present reasonable each-way claims, EAST ASIA (nap) can emerge on top judged on the manner of last week's win at Nottingham, where he returned refreshed following a two-month break. The 3yo Farhan has not won this season but he's made fairly steady improvement, including at 1m4f in a strong race last time, and he may be the chief danger. Calling The Wind and Flyin' Solo are next on the list, although the stamina in Platinumcard's pedigree means that this step back up in trip has to be worth another go.

Kelso

2.10: Exit To Where

Preference is for Iain Jardine's 7yo EXIT TO WHERE (nap), who still looks feasibly treated on his runaway win at Ayr in May and was successful at this track on his reappearance last autumn. Up Helly Aa King ended last season with two placed efforts in Class 2 events and he's feared most on his return, although the reliable Amalfi Doug should be in the mix again. Calipso Collonges is another interesting contender, while the lightly raced 8yo Buster Valentine needs checking in the market on his comeback for a new yard.
David Moon

Naas

1.55: Lord Erskine

Recent Flat form provides a pointer to LORD ERSKINE (nap), who won at Navan on the first of two hurdle runs last term. Jiving Jerry and Minx Tiara renew Galway rivalry, with the mare slightly preferred. Aldo The Apache is improving, and Damalisque is respected as the likely pick of four McManus runners, though The Big Lense is noted as one of several running here off a lower mark than over fences.
Alan Sweetman

Wincanton

3.00: Some Chaos

As hotly contested as ever. It's easy to understand the popularity of Hurricane Harvey as an unexposed second-season chaser who caught the eye on his reappearance over an inadequate trip. However, SOME CHAOS (nap) is by no means your typical 10yo with only 12 chase starts behind him (six wins) and he looked all the better for wind surgery when winning so well at Chepstow. Last year's principals El Presente and Potterman have plenty in their favour and they too should be involved.
