Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings
Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Brighton
2.50: Shalfa
The combination of first-time blinkers and a drop back to seven furlongs prompted a good effort from Shalfa at Yarmouth ten days ago, and she may well be the answer here. Whistledown and Ravi Road also come here in good form but a bigger threat to the selection may come from Doolily, who has become very well handicapped on her two-year-old form.
Chris Wilson
Haydock
5.42: True Jem
Dreams Of Thunder was in fine form earlier in the season but she's returning from a two-month break and preference is for True Jem, who has been running well and should appreciate the drop back down to six furlongs.
Ben Hutton
Musselburgh
1.40: Ayr Empress
On the back of her very solid second over course-and-distance last month, Ayr Empress can go one better off only 1lb higher. Cosa Sara, another in-form four-year-old filly, is next on the shortlist ahead of Bankawi and Royal Countess.

Newmarket
7.10: Achnamara
The three-year-olds make the most appeal here. Giavellotto has improved in leaps and bounds and should go well once more, but Achnamara is better off at the weights compared with previous encounters and can come out on top this time. Praiano should be suited by returning to 1m6f and may prove the pick of the older pair.
Richard O'Brien
Thirsk
3.00: Symbolize
Today's trip and ground is more up Symbolize's street than his two rivals, who've done their recent racing over further, and he can follow up last year's victory. Perotto can fill the forecast spot.
Graham Wheldon
Tipperary
5.35: Erosandpsyche
There isn't much to seperate the top three rated in the lineup. Erosandpsyche got the better of Moss Tucker at Cork last time and it's hard to see that being reversed given the form he is in since joining Paddy Twomey's. Prisoner's Dilemma won't be far away and should be more at home back in this company. Beautiful Sunshine arrives after three good runs in Listed company but it's over a year since she last won.
Brian Dowling
Wexford
5.15: Watch The Weather
Watch The Weather was very impressive on his handicap debut at Cork on Monday and can follow up here under a 7lb penalty. Serpolette got back on track at Tramore last time and can build on that, while Must Be Dreaming is in good form this term and is likely to play a part. It'll be interesting if L'un Deux Trois can transfer his recent form from the Flat now back hurdling, and Mutual Respect is another to keep on side for a yard firing on all cylinders.
