Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings

Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Cartmel

3.59: Lermoos Legend

This might lie between the pair that fought out the finish over the shorter trip here last month. Dr Sanderson came out on top on that occasion and there is every reason to expect him to go close but stepping up to 2m5f could bring out more from the progressive Lermoos Legend (nap). He is taken to gain his revenge.
Jonathan Neesom

Chepstow

2.56: Evasive Power

This could be a good opportunity for Evasive Power (nap), who seemed to find 5f inadequate when third on consecutive appearances this summer and was a creditable fourth in the always-competitive Brighton Bullet when returned to 6f for his latest start. Handytalk drops back to 6f on a good mark and is feared most. Rhubarb has done very well here this season and will enter the equation if she makes a quick reappearance after her Windsor run on Saturday.
Chris Wilson

Downpatrick

3.35: Getaway Goldie

In fine form over fences, winning here and at Perth, either side of a placed effort also at Perth, Getaway Goldie (nap) looks the one they all have to aim for in this one. Unexposed as a hurdler, she also picked up a win at this game at Perth earlier in the year and her recent chasing exploits leave her looking well treated back in this sphere. The ground, trip, and stable/jockey form are also ticked, and she clearly has lots going for her here. Sphagnum, a Sligo winner before two good placed efforts, can give her the most to think about.
Seamus Howard

Epsom

4.25: Kaaranah

Wisper is the most eyecatching of these candidates given her burgeoning success at Brighton (similar to this track) and a creditable show on her only visit to Epsom. Watch out also, however, for Kaaranah (nap) who is forgiven his latest start, when he was coughing afterwards, and shaped nicely on his only attempt at 1m2f the time before. White Willow and Tartan Chief have recent recommendations, while Change Of Fortune is a handicap newcomer to note.
Richard Austen

Ripon

4.16: Cosmos Raj

Enforced might be able to launch a more telling challenge in the first-time headgear, following a satisfactory first attempt at 1m2f. However, Cosmos Raj (nap) took to the trip in a much more striking manner when asserting strongly over C&D four weeks ago and he can follow up. Jewel Maker is third on the list, ahead of Value Theory.
Richard Austen

Roscommon

7.00: Indigo Desert

Really competitive but a 16-runner handicap so there will be value. A win bet on Indigo Desert (nap) looks the call. He's almost certainly well-handicapped. War Correspondent, Cherub and Libby have all failed to win a race but are possibilities now.
Johnny Ward

Southwell

1.05: Mr Trevor

Not many of these can have a good case made at present but Mr Trevor (nap) took well to 7f on Tapeta when winning with something to spare at Newcastle and he can do better yet under the conditions. Thaayer looks sure to give his running and can prove the main danger, ahead of My Boy Jack.
