Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's nine meetings
Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Cartmel
4.43: Dee Star
This can go to Dee Star, who has an impressive record of 142223212 over fences at this track and was a clear second behind an improver in his bid for a course-and-distance double last time. Most of the others come with risks attached but Brian Ellison's lightly raced seven-year-old Kiltorcan Boy showed promise when runner-up in a hurdle handicap here last month and could be the main danger if he takes to this new discipline.
David Moon
Chester
4.55: Chairman
The widest draw scuppered Chairman at Sandown a fortnight ago but he was nevertheless a creditable sixth of 15 in that competitive handicap and is taken to return to winning ways. Post Impressionist was disappointing at Royal Ascot but could bounce back with a big performance in this easier race, with recent York runner-up Highland Premiere next on the list.
Ben Hutton
Curragh
5.25: Spring Feeling
Having run so well on debut at Naas against a smart winner, despite being green, Spring Feeling could improve enough to land this competitive-looking maiden. Livia Celeste and Benitoite look the best of the others with form, while Princess Wannabe and So Beautiful are daughters of Galileo, so need strong consideration on debut.
Tyrone Molloy
Doncaster
8.45: Gypsy Whisper
Scott Dixon's Gypsy Whisper took quite a big step back in the right direction over seven furlongs here last time and is the one to beat if she can back that up. Unexposed three-year-old Clement Danes might have been unsuited by soft ground last time and may provide the chief threat if back in the same form as when third on her Chepstow handicap debut. Kiritimati Island could also have a say if ready to roll after over three months off.

Haydock
9.00: Giovanni Baglione
All four runners have improving profiles but preference is for Giovanni Baglione who won by a convincing margin on his handicap debut at Newmarket last month. He's taken to defy an 8lb rise. Carlisle runner-up Dion Baker is second choice.
Ben Hutton
Market Rasen
5.00: Sid Hoodie
After a satisfactory reappearance run on slower-than-ideal ground last month, Sid Hoodie ought to be primed for a good shot at winning this race for the second year running. Karannelle recorded a ready success under a well-judged Sean Bowen ride at Newton Abbot on Monday but she hasn't always been an easy mare to win with and today's 9lb higher mark asks quite a lot of her. A bigger threat to the selection may come from Kayfast Warrior, who was raised only 3lb for his recent Perth win.
Chris Wilson
Newbury
1.50: Cadillac
Having won a Listed race at Leopardstown by nearly four lengths on his final run for Jessica Harrington, Cadillac produced another big performance when runner-up in the Listed Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot on his first start for Kevin Philippart de Foy and he can defy a 3lb penalty this afternoon. Grocer Jack won two Group 3s on the continent last year and is feared most on his third run for William Haggas, ahead of Finest Sound whose Epsom run was too bad to be true.
Ben Hutton
Newmarket
5.07: Cabinet Of Clowns
Eve Johnson Houghton's Cabinet Of Clowns has advanced his RPR with each start and is the one to beat in this finale if that trend continues. Last-time-out course-and-distance winner Auditor can give him most to think about.
Andrew Sheret
Ripon
2.58: Wait To Excel
The three-year-olds appeal most and the unexposed Hamilton maiden winner Wait To Excel is taken to make a successful handicap debut by beating Luminous Light and Gatecrasher Girl.
