Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's nine meetings

Our best bets for Ascot, Cork, Haydock, Hexham, Lingfield, Naas and more

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ascot

4.15: Aced It

With his two wins for Camilla Poulton having come on Polytrack and good going, there is something for the ex-Irish Aced It to prove on this surface, but the major turnaround in his fortunes is probably down to a lot more than just the ground. 1m4f has suited him very well for a start and he looks capable of better still. Second on the list is lightly raced Group One Power, who ran well over C&D at the Royal meeting, ahead of Louganini, He's A Keeper and Labeebb.
Richard Austen

Cork

4.45: Ask Dee

Very few of these boast worthwhile recent form. The striking exception is long-priced Kilbeggan winner Ask Dee, who can now prove that her defeat of a gambled-on favourite was not a fluke. Perhaps a handicap newcomer such as Callaghy Rose will emerge as a market rival, otherwise it may be left to Bartleys Boy to make a race of it since he was not beaten far in sixth last time.

Naps table: daily tipping selections from national newspaper experts

Haydock

3.10: Thistimenextyear

Aintree protagonists Rowland Ward and Camprond are obvious contenders, along with the unexposed Copperless, who was travelling well when falling two out in that competitive handicap. Shanroe, Historic Heart, Hooper and Nordic Combined arrive on the back of wins and have to be respected, while Celestial Force could be capable of better and Ballinsker represents Evan Williams, who has won four of the last seven runnings. However, the one who appeals most is Thitimenextyear at the foot of the weights. He was unlucky in this race two years ago and could improve a bundle for last month's run at Aintree, where he made headway in the straight then understandably tired on his first start for 667 days. Celestial Force is second choice, ahead of Nordic Combined.
Ben Hutton

Hexham

5.05: Absolutely Dylan

Plenty of runners but not that many make great appeal. The exceptions are Prince Dundee, Square Viviani, Westend Theatre and, in particular, Absolutely Dylan. Sue Smith's chaser should appreciate this return to a longer trip and arrives here in good form. Prince Dundee may give him most to do.
Keith McHugh

Lingfield

3.25: Double Or Bubble

The progressive Double Or Bubble remains unbeaten over 7f, looks the type to make her mark at Group level and represents a trainer who has won this contest three times, including with this filly's sister Mix And Mingle. Therefore she has very persuasive credentials. Bounce The Blues and Isabella Giles are feared most, in that order of preference. Market confidence behind German raider Axana should be noted.
Steve Boow

Naas

2.40: Silence Please

Hard to get away from Silence Please, who should be hard to beat if running anywhere near her best. Insinuendo is lightly raced for her age and her Tipperary effort proved she belongs in this company. Of the three-year-olds, there is a bit of forgiveness needed for fans of Willow and Emaniya, but both fillies are likely much better than what they showed on their respective last starts.
Brian Sheerin

Nottingham

1.45: Cowboy Soldier

This should be fast and furious with Just Glamorous and Look Out Louis in the field and Cowboy Soldier looks the answer, having shaped well on last week's stable debut.
Paul Smith

Thirsk

7.05: Breguet Boy

Dual-purpose performer Breguet Boy looks ready for this longer trip on the Flat and the ground will suit him better than last time at Ayr. There's reason to believe Chief Craftsman may reverse recent Musselburgh placings with Smart Lass and he's feared most.
Alistair Jones

Warwick

6.20: Pounding Poet

Certainly Red took his form to a new level when drawing clear at Wincanton in March and further progress from him is not out of the question but Pounding Poet had a bit left in the tank when winning on his handicap debut seven weeks ago and that form has worked out well. Pickamix has considerably more to prove but he makes his stable debut after a break and in new headgear, so it won't be a total shock if he rolls back the years.
