Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's four meetings

Selections from Carlisle, Kempton, Newcastle and Wolverhampton

Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Carlisle

3.10: If Not For Dylan

Last-time-out winner Frenchy Du Large still has untapped potential over hurdles but Venetia Williams is evidently very keen to switch him to fences. He could be very dangerous if he gets into a good jumping rhythm here but there could be significant improvement from If Not For Dylan(nap) if all goes to plan this time. Andrew Hamilton's 6yo made a bad jumping error when a very respectable fourth over 2m here last month, is now 5lb lower and might well be better suited by today's longer trip.
Chris Wilson

Kempton

3.00: Jersey Wonder

Returning to a flatter track should benefit Jersey Wonder(nap) and Oliver Sherwood's 5yo is a reliable proposition when conditions are good or quicker. Boreham Bill likes this place having very nearly won this 12 months ago before going on to victory in the Lanzarote. Press Your Luck is third on the list.
Alistair Jones

Newcastle

4.20: Engles Rock

The vote goes to Engles Rock(nap), who proved suited by the return to Tapeta here last month and may well build on that success. She remains on a handy mark. Second choice is Traveller, who ties in with the selection on that form. End Zone and Proclaimer are also worthy of respect.
Steve Boow

Wolverhampton

2.20: Bella Caelia

Top of the list is Brian Meehan's filly Bella Caelia(nap), who got off the mark with a strong-finishing win in a Leicester nursery two weeks ago and is open to more progress on her step up to this trip. The other last-time-out winner Vaxholm is feared most, though Sun Rising had an excuse at 1m2f last time and is a big player if she can recapture the form of her near miss over C&D last month. The most interesting nursery newcomer is Smarden Flyer, who was an eyecatcher on Polytrack ten days ago.
