Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Tuesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ayr

2.40: Gandhi Maker

It may pay to give another chance to GANDHI MAKER, who has been beaten at short odds on consecutive outings this autumn but ran a big race over C&D on the first occasion and had a valid excuse last time. He still has significant potential and is preferred to class-dropper Caboy, who was seemingly aided by the addition of cheekpieces in the spring. Bak Rocky finished well over 2m1f last month and will be suited by today's move back up in trip, while Spark Of Madness should also feature.
Chris Wilson

Lingfield

11.40: Deep Sigh

Wholelotafun, who's done most racing over further and had plenty of use made of him when winning over C&D recently, and confirmed front-runner Always Fearless should ensure a decent pace. Heer's Sadie is obviously felt capable off this sort of mark but she'll need to improve for the stiffer test and this looks good for DEEP SIGH, whose Chelmsford second early last month has been boosted by the winner since.

Southwell

1.00: Gemirande

Dan Skelton is evidently very keen to switch unexposed 6yo Our Jet to fences but GEMIRANDE bumped into a thriving opponent when second on his recent seasonal debut and, with that run under his belt, can capitalise upon a recent 2lb drop. Somekindofstar and Feivel can also go well.
Chris Wilson

Wolverhampton

2.45: Minhaaj

Slate Cracker can go well back at 6f, while Twentysharesofgrey and Tahonta (second choice) also have something in their favour. MINHAAJ looks to have found her feet for Brian Ellison though and she can defy top weight after a good run at Newcastle five weeks ago.
Paul Smith

Punchestown

12.15: Merry Moves

A promising first effort over fences at Fairyhouse suggests that MERRY MOVES will be good enough to beat Sanibel Island who has been restored to form by Michael Hourigan and is now bidding for a hat-trick. Glen Ava flopped when favourite at Downpatrick last time, but had previously shown decent form over hurdles at Perth for Iain Jardine.
