Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Selections from Ballinrobe, Brighton, Chepstow, Southwell and Stratford

Ballinrobe
6.00: Sittingonthefence
Having narrowly failed to land a gamble at this venue last month, Sittingonthefence can go one better with in-form Danny Mullins taking over in the saddle. Glenmalure Lodge and Menindee are closely matched on a clash here last month and both have claims as well.
Mark Nunan
Brighton
4.20: Spanish Mane
Top of the list is Julia Feilden's prolific winner Spanish Mane, who has won twice at this track this season and was a close third behind a progressive 3yo at Yarmouth last time. Granary Queen has also had a productive time with her three wins this term and she's feared most on her drop back in trip and grade. The other one on the shortlist is Madrinho, who could pose a serious threat if he gets a good pace and some luck.

Chepstow
2.25: King Of War
Back down in class and returned to the scene of his June success, King Of War holds particularly solid claims. Closely matched rivals Autumn Festival (narrow second choice) and Reversion look the biggest dangers on recent form.
Steve Boow
Southwell
6.40: Dawson Lane
A crackerjack of a race for the grade. So Grateful (second choice) was very well backed when seeing off 13 rivals over 6f in a 0-80 here eight days ago and he has to come right into the reckoning with the drop in trip unlikely to faze him. Harrogate returns to the AW off a 5lb lower mark than for a recent turf win, while Mews House, Ustath and Birdie Bowers also come here in good order. The really interesting runner is Dawson Lane, who left the impression she could prove a fair bit better than this mark when fourth on her handicap debut in June, travelling very strongly but still looking inexperienced off the bridle. In what should be a well-run event she can show her true colours today.
Paul Smith
Stratford
6.20: Blaze A Trail
John Flint's Blaze A Trail was far too strong for the well-backed favourite when bouncing back to form with a C&D win last month and, if judged on his older Irish form, is still very well handicapped after a 6lb rise. He is selected ahead of Makety, who shaped as though she needed the run at Worcester last time and could still have untapped potential over fences. Special Buddy, Steady The Ship and Smith's Bay all have claims too.
