Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Selections from Dundalk, Fakenham, Haydock, Newcastle, Redcar and Uttoxeter

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Dundalk

6.30: Miss Yvonne

Beaten less than 7l by a subsequent Listed winner last time, Miss Yvonne looks fairly handicapped for nursery debut and can oblige. There shouldn't be much between Approaching Bear and Skip James on their previous encounter.
Tyrone Molloy

Fakenham

2.05: Shetland Bus

The prolific pair Kap Auteuil and Tommie Beau return from lengthy absences, but both are proven fresh and the latter is particularly worthy of respect given his record of 3-3 at Fakenham. However, the vote goes to Shetland Bus who avoids a penalty for his recent Stratford success. He will be 5lb higher in future and the stable won this last year.
David Bellingham

Haydock

2.50: Sterling Knight

The two big-field sprint handicaps at the last meeting here on September 24 (staged on good to soft ground) were dominated by high-drawn horses, with Sterling Knight one of those to take advantage. He is unexposed in the cheekpieces, and on slow ground, and this 3yo is taken to follow up from stall 13 of 13. Punchbowl Flyer hasn't been at his best this year but the testing conditions will be right up his street and he's second choice ahead of Sky Blue Pink and Air Raid.

Newcastle

8.15: Wee Fat Mac

Off what is a 4lb lower mark than when winning here last week, Wee Fat Mac is taken to follow up. Hurt You Never should be on his case once more and Burtonwood also enters the equation.
Alistair Jones

Redcar

2.34: VE Day

Claritudo is a C&D winner who wasn't disgraced in a better race at Chester last time and Divine Comedy is another for the shortlist. However, with him seemingly crying out for this stiffer stamina test, VE Day is preferred.
Alistair Jones

Uttoxeter

2.24: Copper Coin

There may still be a bit more improvement to come from Pounding Poet but Copper Coin appears to have plenty in his favour here and gets the nod. Michael Scudamore's 9yo ran very well when placed at Newbury in the spring and won easily over C&D when returning from a break at around this time last year.
