Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Selections from Ayr, Cork, Sedgefield, Southwell and Wolverhampton

Tuesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ayr

2.54: Jump The Gun

This looks pretty competitive but Jump The Gun has had no luck in running since an emphatic C&D win in August and may be able to defy his big weight with the help of Ryan Sexton's claim. Riot is weighted to go well and although he didn't shine at Newcastle recently, where he's run well in the past, the return of cheekpieces offers hope. However, Love De Vega should get the run of the race and may prove the main danger. Abduction and Gweedore are others who are likely to go well.
Emily Weber

Cork

5.25: Miracles In May

Having been well on top at the line when winning at Gowran, Miracles In May can follow up off a 6lb higher mark. Lucky Queen may be suited by coming back to 1m and is likely to contend.
Mark Nunan

Sedgefield

3.20: Master Malachy

The vote goes to Master Malachy, who has taken his form up a level since switched to fences and can make light of a 6lb rise for his wide-margin C&D success and go 3-3 in this sphere. Cawthorne arrives at the top of his game and may prove the biggest danger, though in-form duo Tico Times and If Not For Dylan can't be discounted either.
Peter Entwistle

Southwell

3.36: Translink

Richie McLernon probably earned himself a nomination for ride of the season when successful on Translink at Worcester six weeks ago and, with the front pair drawing nicely clear there, Neil Mulholland's 7yo is probably still on a workable mark after a 4lb rise. Second choice is Zestful Hope, who ran very respectably in two of his three handicaps in the spring and still has potential. Last-time-out C&D winner City Derby is next on the list.
Chris Wilson

Wolverhampton

5.00: Araifjan

Competitive for the grade with several well-handicapped runners on show. Tell'Em Nowt, El Hombre, Ischia and Hot Diggity Dog all have something to recommend them but the pair to focus on could be The Nail Gunner and Araifjan. The former has two C&D wins to his name already this year but Araifjan is on a very dangerous mark and there was significant promise in this month's stable debut.
