There was a lot to like about the way Maple Jack took care of Pearl Of Qatar and ten others over course and distance nine days ago and, with improvement left after just eight starts, he can defy a penalty. 2020 winner Black Friday, who was back in fifth that day, boasts a good record on soft/heavy ground and in October, and can do better, as should Aberama Gold who wasn't best drawn behind Woven in the Silver Cup.

With the form of her last two races boosted by the winners since, Tamarama has strong claims off an unaltered mark back down in class. Outside World, who remains unexposed over 1m2f, is feared most ahead of Tahasun who returns to the scene of her summer win. Phantasy Mac and Nuble are also in the mix.

Punchestown maiden winner Saturn Five is the unexposed runner and should be able to uphold form with subsequent Curragh winner Zoffman over this longer trip. The consistent Dark Vega and Listowel third Sir Allen are capable of getting into the mix.

Une De La Seniere will be a tough nut to crack if matching the form of her close second over course and distance 16 days ago but consistent six-year-old Guernesey, who won this race at its usual venue of Exeter last year, has slipped to a workable mark and his jockey Jack Martin is very good value for his 10lb claim against other conditionals. Handicap debutante Cluain Aodha has made a promising start to her hurdling career and is next on the list, ahead of John Betjeman.

A modest handicap and Sam Twiston-Davies will surely be bold aboard Call Blue on this drop back to 2m. She could be hard to reel in. Belle Na Bann and Sawpit Sienna head the dangers.
