Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Selections from Ayr, Brighton, Nottingham, Punchestown and Yarmouth

Tuesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ayr

8.30: Chookie Dunedin

Taskheer and Merricourt (preferred in that order) may both benefit from today's drop back in trip but prolific all-weather winner Chookie Dunedin has been in good form under Ryan Sexton in recent weeks and, after going close at Catterick on his latest outing, he is selected to gain a rare turf success.
Chris Wilson

Brighton

3.58: Enfranchise

Both three-year-olds have untapped potential and Thunder Queen looks well worth a crack at 1m2f. Jewel In My Crown (second choice) has more to come this year but her 220-day absence tips the scales in favour of Enfranchise. The Johnston-trained four-year-old has made good progress on the all-weather since last seen on turf and her latest run wasn't as bad as her finishing position suggests.

Nottingham

5.15: Smiling Sunflower

Despite being the most exposed in the field, Iur Cinn Tra has at least shown he knows how to win, while Tilly The Filly met plenty of early trouble last time and is capable of a bold show on her previous form. However, Smiling Sunflower looks very interesting on her debut for Darryll Holland. She hasn't been seen since a nightmare passage at Chelmsford last November, but showed ability before that and the stable is going well.
David Bellingham

Punchestown

4.50: Glan

There could be even more to come from Glan who accounted for several of these at Fairyhouse and is now 7lb higher. Fifth in the Fairyhouse race when having his first run since last October, Eskylane may finish closer to his stablemate now. Others to consider are Hearts Are Trumps, whose Fairyhouse run hinted at a return to form, and Ardla, whose form ties in with Cheltenham Festival winner Banbridge. Elegant Lass has won twice when fresh and could go well at a decent price.
Alan Sweetman

Yarmouth

2.40: Special Mayson

The upwardly mobile course winner Special Mayson looks the one to beat after an encouraging reappearance at Catterick. Palifico and Lilkian have been running creditably on the all-weather but perhaps the main threat will come from Little Brown Trout who is very dangerous on the pick of his efforts from 2020. Benoit de la Sayette looks a positive booking for Beauty Choice on his first outing for a new stable.
