Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Friday's day's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Dundalk

8.30: Fascinating Shadow

Progressive three-year-olds Amortentia and Alaroos are big players but FASCINATING SHADOW (nap) won after a layoff here in the spring and appeals as still being on a decent mark.
Mark Nunan

Newmarket

3.50: Allmankind

Classy chaser ALLMANKIND (nap) has considerable potential off this mark on his first Flat start since 2019 and he gets the nod ahead of the progressive 3yo Novel Legend. Last month's Ascot winner Malakahna could also be involved.
Ben Hutton

Southwell

8.15: Victory March

Heavy ground goes some way to excusing a low-key run from Valley Of Flowers (second choice) three weeks ago and she had been on the up prior to that. She is respected, along with Sicario, Reset Button and Blazer Two, but VICTORY MARCH (nap) can be the answer. He landed a gamble at Newcastle on his second run for his new stable and the manner of that success offered encouragement that he could deal with his revised mark.
Paul Smith

Uttoxeter

4.15: Muy Bien

Market support for the unknown quantity Dev Of Tara would be significant but the form-based selection is MUY BIEN (nap) who ran a personal best when second at Newton Abbot in May and should be suited by this longer distance. Craic Magic has a long absence to overcome but still appeals as the main danger, with Marta Des Mottes and Lough Carra also considered.
Richard O'Brien

Wetherby

3.30: Coconut Splash

Flic Ou Voyou began this season with a small-field win three weeks ago but the favourite fell when going well and one of the other big players disappointed so the form isn't anything to go wild about. Ready preference is for COCONUT SPLASH (nap), who is still seeking a first win over fences but has performed well against some smart rivals and has a good record when fresh. Into Overdrive will be dangerous if he picks up where he left off in the spring but confidence in him is dented by the decision to leave off the cheekpieces today.
