Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Catterick

11.53: Relkadam

Although he has yet to hit form this season RELKADAM has a good record here and is below his last winning mark. He is taken to beat last-time-out winners Bolsover Bill and Trac.
Colin Russell

Leicester

2.35: Playful Saint

Dan Skelton's very lightly raced PLAYFUL SAINT stands out with his recent second at Sandown, faced today with a variety of opponents who may or may not put their latest efforts behind them. Some fine-tuning of the tactics have seemingly been needed with the four-year-old Milldam but he has been showing something this term. Martinhal returns from wind surgery last December.

Leopardstown

2.20: Conflated

Last season's Irish Gold Cup winner CONFLATED can improve enough from his seasonal debut at Down Royal to land this prize, possibly at the main expense of his stablemate Galvin, successful in this race 12 months ago.
Alan Sweetman

Limerick

3.15: Cheerful Chap

A few of these look well treated but it's hard to get away from CHEERFUL CHAP who was impressive last time on handicap debut and a 9lb rise probably underestimates him. Camino Rock should have more to give and Mont Saint Vincent ought to build on a promising yard debut last time out.
Phill Anderson

Newcastle

6.25: After John

Jungle Speed has a very long absence to contend with but he is effective here and returns on a handy mark so he needs a market check. More solid claims are held by Macho Pride, Thaki and One More Dream but AFTER JOHN is resurgent at present and he can complete a C&D hat-trick.
Paul Smith
