Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Fancies from Hereford, Kempton, Plumpton, Laytown and Wolverhampton
Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Hereford
3.25: Peltwell
Neil Mulholland's PELTWELL probably had it in the bag when left clear at Huntingdon and she can make it 6-6 in cheekpieces. Sashenka is a likeable type under both codes and she's second choice, ahead of Volkovka and Amelia's Dance.
Alistair Jones
Kempton
3.05: Hamish
A useful renewal of this Listed event can fall to HAMISH. Although he could manage only fourth at Ascot on Champions Day it was still a good effort and the drop back in trip can see him resume winning ways. Dubai Future is a smart opponent who isn't underestimated, while at a bigger price Shandoz looks capable of a big run with further progress on the cards.
Paul Smith
Plumpton
2.45: The Bomber Liston
The two that appeal most lurk near the foot of this competitive handicap. Franco d'Aunou looks the type to succeed in handicaps sooner or later but preference is for THE BOMBER LISTON, who romped home in novice company last month and can maintain his progress in this tougher company.
Jonathan Neesom
Laytown
1.50: Arcanears
Having battled well to win a much better race at Dundalk on Friday, ARCANEARS has a great chance of following up under a penalty as he gets to race off his considerably lower turf mark. If this race comes a bit soon or he doesn't take to the beach, Mogwli and Lord McZie might be best placed to take advantage.
Mark Nunan
Wolverhampton
4.00: Boy George
The one that stands out is the in-form 4yo BOY GEORGE, who has a record of 222212 in AW handicaps in his last six starts and was only just caught off the same mark at Chelmsford last Thursday. Broughtons Flare (second choice) was successful over C&D on his penultimate run and is a big player if he can recapture that form, while Inexplicable has each-way claims on his drop back in trip. Others who could be dangerous are Harbour Project and Toshack.
