Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's eight meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Chelmsford

7.02: Myriad

Timestamp could resume his progress back on an artificial surface but the recent form of MYRIAD (nap) reads well and a first crack at this intermediate trip can see him record AW win number three. A big run from Mountain Road, who finished in front of him last time, in the 5.35 would be a welcome boost.
Andrew Cooper

Chester

5.40: Cave Diver

The last race of the season at Chester can go to well-drawn 3yo CAVE DIVER (nap), who gave a really good account of herself when fourth in a competitive race at Newbury last month and gets another chance off the same mark here. Qabilah beat only one home when third on her handicap debut but the winner collected a recent Listed race and the runner-up was also a next-time-out scorer. Sweet Fantasy is next on the list.
Chris Wilson

Curragh

2.45: Distillate

A nursery which may not take a lot of winning and DISTILLATE (nap) looks the one after a narrow Down Royal defeat when denied a clear run on the rails. Mile End was fifth in that race but could emerge the chief threat here if handling the drop in trip.
Alan Hewison

Haydock

2.40: Count D'Orsay

Haydock has brought out the best in COUNT D'ORSAY (nap) in the past and this well-handicapped 6yo can snap a long losing run following his back-to-form third in the Portland at Doncaster recently. Ventura Flame ran as well as could be expected in a Listed race at Ayr last Friday and is feared most off a low weight now back in a handicap. Isle Of Lismore is next on the list, while Equality, Nomadic Empire and Alligator Alley also arrive in good form.
Ben Hutton

Listowel

2.30: Watch The Weather

Although beaten, WATCH THE WEATHER (nap) did little wrong in his hat-trick bid at Ballinrobe and can resume winning ways. Having been touched off in a good handicap at Killarney last month, Alvaro looks a big threat.
Mark Nunan

Market Rasen

4.05: Kihavah

Despite the steep rise in class and in the weights, Eagle's Realm could still have something in hand and is not overlooked lightly. Stablemate Castel Gandolfo has the benefit of Jack Hogan's 7lb claim and also has serious claims but both may have to give best to KIHAVAH (nap), who has been in fine form on the Flat and is still open to improvement as a hurdler.
Jonathan Neesom

Newmarket

3.40: Savvy Victory

The near-side runners held an advantage in the last two Cambridgeshires but the longer-term trends are less conclusive as regards the draw. William Haggas holds a very strong hand with Mujtaba and Protagonist who both look open to further progress and deserve to be prominent in the betting. However, a good alternative is the Sean Woods-trained SAVVY VICTORY (nap) who is improving, looks favourably treated, nearly beat Protagonist two starts ago and won't be inconvenienced if there has been any rain. He comes here with a big chance. At the prices, the second choice is fellow 3yo Jimi Hendrix who should still have more to offer. Injazati (third choice) is interesting back down in trip and Dual Identity holds solid claims, while inevitably several others also have possibilities, including Saeed Bin Suroor's four contestants.
Steve Boow

Ripon

4.23: Kincade

The move up from 1m6f to 2m1f worked a treat for KINCADE (nap) at Pontefract and he has further potential over this sort of trip. Chuvelo, the other last-time-out scorer, should be suited by today's extra 2f and he is feared the most, ahead of Malakahna and Emaraty Hero.
