1pt each-wayEVERYONE wants to back the winner of the Ladbrokes Trophy Chase at Newbury because it’s the big race of the weekend, but while I’ll definitely be having a crack at it, there are far better wagering opportunities.

Chief among them is for Kerry Lee in the At The Races Rehearsal Handicap Chase (3.20) at Newcastle as I can’t believe he is not favourite.

Two seasons ago Lee’s nine-year-old was a seriously progressive chaser, having bolted up by 17 lengths over 2m4f at Sandown and then following up over just over a mile further off a stone higher mark in the Grand National Trial at Haydock, which he won by nine lengths.
