The seven-year-old will edge up the weights for this narrow defeat in this 2m handicap, but with regards to his prospects of going one better from a higher mark next time there are reasons for optimism as he jumped well and travelled strongly. There is a valuable 2m handicap chase at Aintree (won last year by Katachenko) on the horizon which could be his next target.
