Last Saturday provided one of those days of jump racing the Flat simply can't compete with thanks to Cue Card and Sire De Grugy.

Longevity is such a rarity in top class Flat racing. There have been seven Epsom Derby's since Cue Card won his first Grade 1 and who says there won't be at least one more after Colin Tizzard's legend recorded his eighth top-level success with one of the best performances of his life in the Betfair Chase?

Then there was former champion chaser Sire De Grugy, who at Ascot became only the fifth horse aged ten or above to win a handicap chase off a mark as high as 160 in the past ten years.
