Monday's free racing tips: five horses to consider putting in your multiples

Monday's best bets ranked in order of confidence by our top tipsters

Handicappers' nap

Eklil (4.50 Windsor)

Had been progressing nicely until an excusable effort when too keen and wide at Newbury last time. Previously a solid third in a competitive Racing League contest over course and distance and holds solid claims at this level off 2lb lower.
Paul Curtis

Ace tipster

Dame Ethel Smyth (2.50 Windsor)

John and Thady Gosden's well-bred filly took a big step forward when beaten a head at Yarmouth two weeks ago. That form has substance and she makes her handicap debut off an attractive mark of 76. With Benoit De La Sayette's 3lb claim in mind, she's the one to beat.
Owen Goulding

Dark horse

Oblong Song (2.50 Windsor)

Started 13-8 favourite on his last start in maiden company in June but could only manage third. Has hinted at having ability to win races and enters handicap company off a fair mark here. Should go close in this.
Tom Gibbings

Eyecatcher

Smooch (5.30 Wolverhampton)

Was beaten a long way on debut at Beverley, but hinted at far more ability than the bare result suggests.
Marcus Buckland

Speed figures

Dame Ethel Smyth(2.50 Windsor)

Lightly raced filly, she was overhauled close home at Yarmouth last month but earned decent figures and could gain deserved compensation.
Dave Edwards

Newmarket nap

Priscilla's Wish(5.05 Yarmouth)

Fancied to rack up the five-timer for Charlie McBride after a great run at this track recently.
David Milnes
