Minor might make a major impact back over optimum trip at Naas

I was never great at bird catching but I am confident of being lucky in today's Birdcatcher Premier Nursery (3.10) at Naas as Leo Minor looks to be crying out for a return to six furlongs.

The War Front colt might prefer better ground but that is where the negatives stop. He boasts a course and distance win over Noivado – who subsequently bolted up at the venue – and the natural speed he showed in that contest suggested he was nothing but a sprinter.

Aidan O'Brien stepped him up to 7f for a Listed contest at Dundalk earlier this month and, for six of those seven furlongs, he looked the most likely winner. He hit the front over 1f out, trading at a low of 2.02 on the exchanges, but his stamina appeared to run out close to home and he had to settle for third behind the unbeaten pairing of Ambassadorial and Executive Force. There was no shame in that as the two that finished ahead of him look well above-average.
