This four-year-old was a huge improver last season when winning four times and rising from an opening mark of 60 to 86 and he looked unlucky not take his winning sequence to four when second in a 1m6f handicap at Salisbury on his reappearance.

Magic Circle finished strongly into second after being given a lot to do and was closing on winner Rideonastar all the way to the line but couldn’t get closer than a length and a half behind the winner.
