What they say: 'He's a really nice horse and he deserves to have a go'
Gordon Elliott, trainer of American Mike and Irish Point
Irish Point could take his chance in the Grade 1 two-mile novice race this weekend at Leopardstown. I've been happy with his form, especially his last two runs and he's been in good form at home. We're happy with American Mike. He seemed to work well this morning and he is in the two-mile race and the two-mile-six race this weekend and we haven't made a decision yet on which to run him in yet.
Nicky Henderson, trainer of Attacca, Firestep, Jet Powered and Persian Time
Attacca had a dirty tracheal wash at the time of the Challow so couldn't run and I'd like to find a race for him before the festival, but he's won two novice hurdles so it's difficult – it's not as if I can run him in an ordinary novice hurdle with two penalties. The reason we made the running with him at Cheltenham over two miles last time was because I was certain he wanted two and a half miles. It was a good performance and I think he's a nice horse. Persian Time is another promising type who showed that when winning at Ascot in November. I've thought about the Sidney Banks at Huntingdon for him and he's ready to go. Jet Powered, who was good at Newbury on his first start for us, always looked like he'd get two and a half miles, but he didn't fire back there last time. He's on his way back at the moment. I've long liked Firestep, but I'm not sure about him.
Tom Lacey, trainer of Ginny's Destiny
He seems to have come out of his run at Warwick really well. We're going to give him an entry in the Sidney Banks at Huntingdon but we're looking at giving him a few options as we don't know what the ground will be like. He's in the Ballymore, but we'll give him an entry in the Coral Cup and that looks like it will be his target.
