Meadow costly for in-running backers

>>Big Meadow looked set to justify 5-6 favouritism when clear in the novice handicap hurdle at Chepstow, but the hotpot stopped quickly on the run to the last and finished only third after being matched at 1.03 to win in running on Betfair.

Big Meadow had traded at the minimum 1.01 for a place and let down backers in that market behind 9-1 winner Falcons Fall, who defied a high of 120.

>>Backers who took 1.03 about 1-2 hotpot Bonbon Au Miel at Cork were given a scare when he was joined on the run-in by 22-1 shot Lilshane in a bobbing finish.
