>>Master The World defied a high of 38 in running on Betfair on his way to victory in the Betfred Mile at Goodwood.

The 6-1 winner, who had been a best-priced 8-1 chance in the morning before several non-runners, came home strongly to deny backers who had forced runner-up Tony Curtis to 2.54.

Third-placed Birchwood briefly looked set to win but disappointed backers at 1.33.
