Marathon trip can finally see class horse come good in big race

Straidnahanna won the North Yorkshire National and while it was a strong staying effort last time, a 7lb rise to 139 maybe too much. However on the three recent occasions that 11st 12lb was carried to victory the winners were rated 137, 138 and 139 in low-class affairs.

Gevrey Chambertin travels well, but he hasn't won a chase since his novice days in December 2014. Previously he had not looked an out-and-out stayer either.

Milansbar was runner-up in the Midlands National last March off 7lb higher. If he can recover from a below-par run at Warwick, he is in with a big chance.
