It probably costs less to be a member of Royal Troon than it does to be in the In Salutem fan club but now is not the time to give up on the six-year-old and it could be worth renewing your membership for the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes (2.50) at the Curragh.

Today will be his 62nd start but I am convinced he is still improving and the return to 6f could be the key to unlocking an eighth career win.

In Salutem performed better than his finishing position suggested in the Flying Five over the minimum trip on his last visit to the Curragh. Shane Foley did not get the gap he needed two furlongs out and then he was forced to come down the nearside, away from the main action where Ardhoomey and Washington DC were fighting out the finish.
