The last time we clapped eyes on Sure Reef, Hurricane Fly ousted Our Conor and Jezki to win his fourth Irish Champion Hurdle and Windsor Park won the bumper.

It was at Leopardstown on the last Sunday in January in 2014 – 1,070 days ago to be precise.

Willie Mullins has done some remarkable things since Monday but getting Sure Reef fit enough to make a winning return in today's 2m4f hurdle (1.20) would be up there with anything achieved over those four magical days at Leopardstown and Limerick.
