CARLISLE, Wednesday

The Carlisle Bell consolation race was run in a marginally faster time than the main event and the strong early gallop helped set it up for the finishers, with the winner, third, fourth, fifth and sixth all ridden well off the pace.

Runner-up MUIRSHEEN DURKIN, subject of a gamble, was described as ‘in touch’ in the early stages and probably did well to finish so close on his second start for Neville Bycroft.
