Leoncavallo fails to overhaul Fritillaire

>>Leoncavallo touched 1.11 in running on Betfair to justify 2-1 favouritism when coming alongside leader La Fritillaire in the 2m2f handicap at Pontefract, but the market leader couldn’t get past that rival and had to settle for second. The 14-1 winner defied a high of 44.

>>Kullu was pushed to a high of 50 despite making all in the mile maiden at Pontefract. Charlie Fellowes's 6-1 winner had raced freely and that set the layers against her, but she kept on well to beat 11-10 favourite First Voyage, who was matched at no shorter than 1.51.

>>There was a boilover in the 2m novice hurdle at Southwell when 25-1 outsider Hag Stone beat 4-6 favourite Debece after trading at a high of 170. In-running backers had been all over the market leader, but he disappointed backers at 1.12.
