Leaders find it a long way home at Ffos Las

The home straight at Ffos Las is one of the longest in Britain – a good half-mile – and even on fast ground Blenheim Warrior found it a few yards too far as he was collared in the final strides by Urban Space after trading at 1.16 on Betfair. The winner was matched at 160.

It was a theme throughout the day at the Welsh venue, with longtime leaders being caught. Favourite Burguillos was forced into 1.11 when he appeared to have been allowed an easy time up front in the 7½f maiden, but he capitulated tamely when challenged and dropped to third, the race being won by his main market rival Loaded (20).

Flutterbee, who was matched at 1.1 in running, made it four seconds (traded at odds-on each time) in her last six starts when finding Pastoral Star too strong in the seller.
