Key opens up just in time to floor Dance

Dance Alone appeared to have put the 6f handicap at Leicester to bed when going clear entering the final 2f and was backed down to 1.08 on Betfair. However, the way he was worn down by Case Key suggests he might have appreciated being held on to for longer. The winner was done at 38.

The highly regarded Star Archer is proving extremely costly to follow. He was sent off favourite on his debut when runner-up to the decent Tommy Taylor, who had already had a run, and was backed off the boards in the 1m1/2f maiden at Windsor. However, Salouen toyed with the 4-11 shot and didn't have to come off the bridle to win. Despite that, the favourite was matched at 1.38.

Signs Of Blessing traded at 28 in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville as it appeared he would have to pay for his positive tactics in the closing stages, but instead of running out of steam he drew further away to record by far his biggest success.
