Kensington should prove the star turn at Hamilton

Credit: Edward Whitaker

Newmarket: David Milnes

Top Mission (1.30 Newbury, nap)

May not have handled the Dip when beaten by Jewel House at the Craven meeting at Newmarket and should do better on this flatter track. Saeed Bin Suroor's three-year-old has since worked well on the watered gallop.

Not beaten far on his debut in a potentially decent maiden at the track last month and has taken a step forward since.

North: Richard Young

Kensington Star (7.30 Hamilton, nap)

Progressive sort who still showed signs of greenness on his reappearance here this month. He should be better for the run, is open to plenty of improvement and fancied to get back to winning ways.

West Country: Tim Mitchell

Southfield Vic (8.20 Aintree, nap)

Big improvement since returning from a break, recording two effortless wins on conditions that suit. More on his plate here but remains well treated under a penalty and is fancied to complete a hat-trick.

Others to follow

Newmarket 4.55 Storm Ahead.
York 2.20 Daddies Girl.

Racing Post Ratings: Simon Turner

Neola (2.20 York, nap)

Lots to like about her wide-margin win at Nottingham last week, when she scored in the style of a good filly. Much more on here, but she is fancied to be involved.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Splash Around (4.45 Newbury)

Made a satisfactory reappearance at Leicester last month and Sir Michael Stoute's lightly raced colt may have been let in on a winning mark for his handicap bow.

Longshot: Ed Quigley

Lil Sophella (4.35 York)

Last year's winner has a good record when fresh and, despite being out of sorts when last seen, cannot be ruled out back on the Knavesmire.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

A Little Bit Me (6.55 Cork)

An easy winner over 6f at the track last time, the Fozzy Stack-trained filly drops in trip here and can cope with the shorter distance and a 9lb rise in the ratings. She gets the vote to score under Chris Hayes.
