Ran second to Stratagem – beaten on his British debut recently – when trained in France by Guillaume Macaire, but then won his second Auteuil start by 15 lengths. The form is hard to equate as only one of the top four to run again since was tailed off next time. The handicapper was impressed enough to give him a rating of 146 in Britain, though, which is only 2lb below the current top-rated juvenile in Britain (Allmankind). He was originally set to run in novice at Wincanton last week, so this Grade 2 was not Plan A.

Conclusion I think Fujimoto Flyer's French win has far more substance – the second is now rated 156 in France – and will back her.
