Kelso Placepot picks: Paul Kealy has three bankers on Thursday's card

Course winner has got himself well handicapped and signalled a return to form last time, so he's a must for the opening leg of the Placepot at Kelso (1.50), along with , who has been in fine form on both starts this season.

shaped well on his hurdles debut at Ayr last month and looks banker material for the next (2.20), but the five-runner race (2.50) looks a lot tighter.

The suggestions are , who ran into a well-treated rival at Sedgefield last time, and , who will appreciate better ground than on his previous outing.

The next banker is (3.20), a course winner who ran a blinder when second in December, but has somehow been dropped 1lb for it. He's very well treated on his best form.

In the next (3.50) it's hard to know what to make of Lucinda Russell's point winner So They Say, but ran a nice race on his return from a year off over an inadequate trip at Ayr last month, and his best hurdles form is a fair bit better than his rivals, so he gets the nod.

is the best handicapped horse in the last on his best form, but it's fair to say he can't be entirely trusted to repeat it, so with Elvis Mail likely to need softer ground, I'll include as back-up.
